“Thank you to the hospital radio volunteers for visiting our mother on the ward – they made her feel better than the morphine does!” said the family of a hospital patient.
This quote taken from an impact study carried out by the Hospital Broadcasting Association, the umbrella body representing hospital radios across the UK, shows the power of community radio within hospitals.
“You can help Bath Hospital Radio to make an even bigger impact by volunteering – we are looking for new volunteers to visit patients in the wards, research and/or present programmes and help with the running of the station,” said Clare Reddaway, membership secretary at Bath Hospital Radio.
To find out how you can help us to make a bigger impact in the future, join us on Saturday 1 October between 10am and 6pm when Bath Hospital Radio will be opening its studios to the public for a special open Day.
During the Open Day you can meet our friendly team of volunteer broadcasters, see us present a show live on air and record your own link too!
