3, 2, 1 is the theme for Bath Hospital Radio’s fundraising weekend on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 June when the station will be live on air for 30 hours playing tracks that made it into the top three of the charts.
Live on air from 7am to 10pm on both days, the station will also be throwing its doors open to the public on Saturday 3 June to give people a chance to see the station’s studios and have a go at recording their own link.
“Bath Hospital Radio is a charity independent of the NHS so we are hoping to raise much-needed funds to keep the station on air as well as attract new volunteers,” said presenter Ollie Lewis.
Bath Hospital Radio is run entirely by volunteers and it costs just over £10 a day to keep the station on air broadcasting to patients at the Royal United Hospital in Bath.
Held annually in June, the station’s fundraising weekend raised more than £1,000 last year and the team hope to beat that target this year.
“Every penny donated to the station is used to keep us on air – we are the most listened to radio station by patients at the Royal United Hospital,” added Ian Martin, chair of the trustees.
“If you want to get involved and support Bath Hospital Radio, visit the studios between 10am and 4pm on Saturday 3 June,” added Ian.
