A grant from Bath & North East Somerset Council will help to support Bath Hospital Radio’s plans to develop more arts-based radio programmes.
“The £500 arts micro grant will enable us to explore and pilot programmes featuring some of the great arts activities taking place at the Royal United Hospital,” said Clare Reddaway, secretary of Bath Hospital Radio.
“Art at the Heart runs a variety of arts activities including music performances which we hope to broadcast to a wider audience including patients in wards at the hospital.”
The grant will also enable the radio station, which celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2014, to recruit more volunteers.
“We are delighted that B&NES is supporting our plans to implement a volunteer recruitment programme so that we can attract more volunteers who are the lifeblood of the station,” added Clare.
