Bath Hospital Radio has been broadcasting to patients for more than 50 years.

Run by a dedicated group of volunteers, we broadcast 24 hours a day to patients, staff and visitors at the Royal United Hospital and Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases in Bath.

As well as keeping patients informed and entertained, our service is widely recognised by healthcare professionals as an important part of the care package provided in hospital.

Our programmes include:

• live request featuring our listeners’ favourite music – our team of volunteers visit wards three times a week to collect requests as well as those received online

• national and international news from Sky on the hour plus local news and information throughout the day about what is happening in each hospital

• full match commentaries of Bath Rugby matches which are popular with listeners both in hospital and at home who listen in online.

A member of the Hospital Broadcasting Association, Bath Hospital Radio was the 2002 Hospital Radio Station of the Year in the UK, and a runner-up in 2003.

The original charity running Bath Hospital Radio since 1964 was Bath Hospital Broadcasts Society which was superseded by a new charitable incorporated organisation (CIO), Bath Hospital Radio.

Bath Hospital Radio is a registered charity (number 1168453).
